An open screening of the short film “Goodbye, Kalmyk Land” was held today
. It is dedicated to the deportation of the Kalmyk people. According to the director of the film, Arltan Bembeyev, he was inspired to shoot by the painting of his father, Honored Artist of Kalmykia Grigory Bembeyev. While writing the script, he read research papers on deportation and noted that many tragic stories could form the basis of short and full-length dramatic films.

For his film, he chose the most generalized and widespread image of a family and a soldier. The hall was full of people. He talked about the creation of the painting and how the shooting took place.
